There are some who are awake even while asleep, and then there are those who, apparently awake, are deeply asleep.

Tantric Yoga Nidra—the Yoga of Sleep
Yoga Nidra — the Yoga of Sleep — is a profound meditation practice and science of consciousness, rooted in classical Tantra. In this state between waking and sleeping, you'll experience some of the deepest rest available to a human nervous system. And with time, the patterns you carry begin to unwind on their own, revealing an awareness — and a doorway to genuine spiritual growth — that was never actually missing, only covered over.
This isn't just relaxation. Research shows Yoga Nidra supports nervous system regulation at a deep level — easing anxiety, worry, depression, and grief, and rewiring the neural patterns that trauma leaves behind. The body remembers how to breathe fully again. Life is allowed to unfold, rather than be managed.
Join us online for 4 weeks of community connection, Tantra Yoga teachings, practical sleep research, and guided Yoga Nidra practice — from wherever you are.
Why This Practice, Why Now?
You don't need years of meditation experience. You don't need to be flexible, spiritual, or particularly "good" at relaxing. Yoga Nidra meets you exactly where you are — even exhausted, even scattered, even skeptical that rest is actually possible for you. In fact, if you're someone who has tried to meditate and found it frustrating, this practice was likely built for exactly that experience. There's no effort required to "clear your mind." You lie down, you're guided, and the practice does the unwinding for you. Your only task is to show up and receive it.
Four weeks is enough to feel the shift begin. Many students report their first genuinely restful sleep in months after a single session. By week two or three, old patterns of tension — in the jaw, the chest, the low back, the mind — start to loosen their grip. By week four, something more settled begins to take root: not just better sleep, but a nervous system that has remembered, at least a little, how to come home to itself.
This is especially valuable if you're navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, the aftermath of trauma, or simply the accumulated wear of holding it together for too long. Yoga Nidra doesn't ask you to talk about what happened or analyze why you feel the way you feel. It works underneath language, in the body and nervous system directly — which is often exactly where healing, and real spiritual growth, needs to happen, and exactly where willpower and insight alone can't reach.

In a dream you have no inkling that it is a dream. But in this life, you have some intuition that it is a sort of dream, and this intuition imposes on you the duty of making an effort to get out of it.
However, who wants you to realize the Self if you don’t want to? If you prefer to be in this dream, stay as you are.
—Ramana Maharshi
A Practice for a Nervous System That's Tired of Trying
Most of us are running on a nervous system that never fully powers down. We rest, but we don't really land. We sleep, but we wake up carrying the same tension we fell asleep with. Yoga Nidra meditation works differently than anything you've likely tried before — not by asking you to concentrate harder, breathe a certain way, or force your thoughts into silence, but by guiding you into a state your body already knows how to enter.
You've felt it before: that hypnagogic moment just before sleep, where the edges of the day dissolve and something quieter opens up. This online module teaches you to access that state consciously, on purpose, and with a container strong enough to let real change happen inside it.
In this module, you’ll experience:
Guided Yoga Nidra meditation journeys that access the space between waking and sleeping — the exact threshold where lasting transformation happens fastest, because the analytical mind steps aside and the deeper patterning of the nervous system becomes reachable.
Tantra yoga teachings drawn from the classical roots of this practice. Yoga Nidra is often taught today purely as a stress-relief technique, and while it supports regulation and eases anxiety, it was born from a far deeper lineage — a technology for recognizing the awareness that underlies all experience, and a genuine path of spiritual growth.
A held virtual community. You won't be doing this alone. Nervous system change happens more readily — and more safely — in the presence of others who are also softening, also unwinding, also willing to be witnessed in the process, even through a screen.
Practical tools to carry the state of Nidra into daily life. The goal isn't just a good 2 hours on Thursday nights. It's a body that knows, more and more, how to find this ease and regulation on its own — in traffic, in conflict, in grief, in the ordinary friction of being alive.
Is This Course Right for You?
This course is for you if you're tired in a way that sleep alone hasn't fixed. If you carry tension you can't quite name or release. If you've sensed there's a deeper capacity for peace, regulation, and spiritual growth available to you, even if you haven't been able to access it consistently. If you're ready to stop white-knuckling your way through anxiety and stress and instead let your body remember how to let go.
It's not a course about doing more. It's a course about finally, safely, doing less — and discovering what becomes available when you do.
Ready to rest, differently?

Sexuality
This course is nonsexual. There are no intimate or sexual teachings in this course. We do talk about individual sexual energy in some of our Tantra Immersion courses as a means to become more empowered and liberated in our own being. Yoga Nidra does not include any sexuality or sexual energy topics.
All sexual orientations, expressions and genders are welcome.
Cultural Honoring
Tantra Yoga is a tradition that comes from the Indian subcontinent and is at least 1000 years old, with roots 3000+ years old. While the teachings of Tantra Immersion are as close to traditional as possible, there have been many interpretations of these teachings throughout the years which have often leaned more toward appropriating than honoring Tantra. There has also been a capitalistic and patriarchal tint to the teachings which underlies how they have been translated and handed down.
As a committed anti-racist and queer person, Grace, the founder and lead facilitator of Tantra Immersion, has spent the last 18 years through study and immersive personal experience sifting through what’s been handed down in their lineages and finding the deepest basis of “Truth” they can access. This path is what they offer in their teachings: a path that both honors the traditional teachings and is aware of the oppressive ways they have been inaccessible beyond white-bodied, spiritual circles for the last 100 years.
Tantra Immersion facilitators are always open to questions and critique about their interpretations and are actively working to update these teachings to be more aware of oppressive narratives, underlying patriarchal interpretations, and societal bias. This is a work in progress and will be for a long time to come. Your participation helps to keep shaping the teachings for the 21st century and beyond.
Scholarships for BIPOC/PGM Students and Future Participants
The container for Tantra Immersion is open to all people. And, there is a loud cry from People of the Global Majority (BIPOC/PGM) to have containers that are not white majority. This has been hard to find in Western spiritual classes and communities.
The Tantra Immersion has an ongoing scholarship fund to support members of our community, prioritizing People of the Global Majority. All current registration fees include a 5% offering to this scholarship fund.
In addition, you are welcome to offer donations to this fund simply by contacting us.

Yoga is for EVERY body. The Sanskrit word yoga translates as “to yoke” or “to unite” and doesn’t require a level of physical ability or flexibility. It points to creating deeper awareness and coherence throughout our physical, subtle, and spiritual bodies.
Tantric movement practice echoes our spiritual orientation that our bodies are Sacred and Divine. We can get glimpses of this while out for a walk, while lying down and bringing attention to a particular part of the body, or while moving the body in certain ways. Postures and movement techniques remind us to activate this ever-present Divine energy within.
During all our practices we strongly encourage each student to listen to and respect their body’s sensations and thresholds. We will offer modifications as we teach each movement and remind you that each practice is only an invitation, an inquiry into your true nature. There are no required practices and the energy activation and meditative attitude we are seeking can be awakened in ways that truly accommodate EVERY body.
-
Yes! Yoga is for EVERY body.
Yoga Nidra is a practice of lying on the back or in a comfortable position and being guided into a deep state of restful meditation. So there is no movement and you can use anything you need to be comfortable.
-
Yes. Yoga is for EVERY body. It’s no secret that Western yoga and Tantra practice has been branded as exclusively white, thin-bodied, and able-bodied. This appropriation is immersed in white supremacy culture, and which reinforces fatphobia and ableism. At Tantra Immersion School, we address these oppressive structures explicitly, as well as the resistance, fear and stigmas that often surround our current yoga and Tantra cultures.
Tantra Immersion School is committed to accessibility and to bringing Tantric yoga to diverse liberation seekers. We truly welcome ALL bodies and frame all of our practices with an awareness of physical and mental modifications. We’ll share what has worked for other practitioners, and for our teaching team, and invite folks to share their experiences as well. In this way, we strive to break down barriers to accessing these powerful liberation practices.
-
No. Anyone can learn to meditate, and we all learn differently. Hridaya meditation invites us to notice what’s happening in the body and mind, no matter how it shows up. We bring self-compassion to every practice session and a desire to honestly acknowledge and accept our experiences, while being curious what inner conditions we’d like to shift.
Tantric meditation is not about emptying your mind with the expectation of quiet or stillness. The invitation is to watch and witness whatever arises and create space between what is arising and who is noticing it arise.
This can feel like a daunting invitation in the beginning (or for the first few years). But for most, there is a sense of relief in becoming aware not just of the content of our mind, but also of the observer of our mind. Over time, a sense of inner stillness can be more consistently found which brings self-trust and self-compassion.
In our Yearlong Cohort, we offer many short mindfulness practices as well that can be used in everyday life to cultivate this sense of witnessing. With our wide range of practices, each participant can discover which modalities are most supportive for them.

One of our community agreements is to take care of yourself and your body. It’s very common these days to feel adverse to more digital time in our days. And yet, being online makes our community accessible to millions of people. Virtual spiritual practice and community connection is so new to our culture and, understandably, it does not fit everyone’s needs. Our school holds most courses and gatherings online so that we can reach folks around the world.
Our facilitators are here to explore options to help you find ways to engage that feel nourishing.
If you have specific accommodation needs, please reach out to discuss how we might be able to support you. Modifications could include:
a 1:1 check-in before, during or after a class
Having cameras on or off as needed
Staying for most of a gathering but stepping away if you feel drained by being online
Joining with a phone connection and walking or moving your body during the teaching portions of class.
We offer opportunities to gather in-person in the Yearlong Cohort, including quarterly local gatherings and a Silent Meditation Retreat.
Our sibling organization, Hridaya Northwest, offers several annual Silent Meditation Retreats in the Northwestern U.S.

The practices in Tantra Immersion School are designed to slow us down. We orient in every gathering to listen inward and attend to our bodies, emotions and minds, noticing what’s in our hearts with self-compassion. And we also remind each other that our individual experiences are often amplified in a collective global experience, that we are not alone and can share what’s alive, what’s hurting, what’s joyful, what’s confusing with our trusted community.
We aspire to create a grounded, embodied, calm, slow, heart-centered environment in all of our gatherings. While we acknowledge our school environment is not for everyone, we strive to increase accessibility strategies every year. This includes actively undoing patriarchal and white supremacy culture norms.
Many who are drawn to the spiritual path are highly sensitive, deep feelers, empaths, and/or neuro-diverse, and, sadly, may have been left out of the conversation about accessibility in spirituality and liberation communities.
How we offer general and specific accommodations is a regular part of our leadership conversation – including our own personal experiences in similar communities. If you are finding a particular aspect of class challenging or would like to bring an accommodation need or idea to our attention, we strongly encourage you to do so by talking with a facilitator or team member.
